Advantech Wireless can supply a comprehensive range of Antenna Motor Drive Cabinets to complement their INTRAC range of Tracking Antenna Controllers. Brief descriptions of the standard units are given below.
MC381 & MC382 Three Phase AC Drive Cabinets
These Drive Cabinets are contactor based and can be supplied for single speed (MC381) or dual speed (MC382) operation in sequential or simultaneous axis drive configurations. For dual speed use dual wound motors are required.
Supply voltages of 208, 380, 400, 415, 440 and 480 and three phase motors from below 1hp to 20hp can be accommodated.
A number of options are available including single phase or three phase polarization or stow motor, electromagnetic brake drive or DC injection braking and a local control panel. Limit and interlock switch logic which directly inhibits drive is incorporated as standard.
The unit is housed in a weatherproof wall or frame hung GRP enclosure. Contactors are a mature technology that provides exceptionally robust and reliable performance.
MC392 Three Phase AC Variable Frequency Drive Cabinets
The MC392 use industry standard inverter variable frequency drive units to provide two speed control of standard single speed three phase AC motors. Versions of the MC392 are available using single phase supply power to drive three phase motors up to 2.2kW (3hp) and a three phase supply for three phase motors up to 4kW (5.5hp).
The advantages of this type of drive controller are that two-speed operation with braking is available with a standard single speed motor. Also the inverter drives impose acceleration and deceleration profiles that reduce the stress on the antenna mechanics. Limit and interlock switch logic which directly inhibits drive is incorporated as standard.
A local control panel is available as an option. The unit is housed in a weatherproof wall or frame hung GRP enclosure.
MC381SS & MC382SS Three Phase AC Drive Cabinets
These units are similar to the MC381 & MC382 cabinets except that they use solid state soft start units instead of contactors.
Low Voltage DC Drive Cabinets
These are 1U high 19-inch rack mounting units for 24vDC or 36vDC. They provide drive for Azimuth and Elevation only. Drive power is 4A for simultaneous axis drive or 8A for sequential axis drive.
MC162 Single Phase AC Drive Cabinets
This drive cabinet uses solid state power control and is suitable for single phase AC 3 or 4 wire motors up to 0.37kW (0.5hp). Only one axis may be driven at a time. Supply power may be 110vAC or 220vAC 50/60Hz.
Limit and interlock switch logic which directly inhibits drive is incorporated as standard. A local control panel is available as an option. The unit is housed in a weatherproof wall or frame hung GRP enclosure.
Drive Cabinets for Counter Torqued Drive Systems
These drive cabinets are available for use with the INTRAC-605 only. They provide drive for counter torqued drive systems with AC or DC motors up to 15hp. The AC units incorporate industry standard AC Vector Drives and the DC units incorporate industry standard DC Drives.
These cabinets are normally used on large antennas which have a diverse range of individual requirements for items such as stow pins and auxiliary drive systems. Consequently, although these cabinets use our standard circuits for the counter torquing control, they are all individually customized to meet the particular requirements of the target antenna.
Typically they incorporate limit switch and interlock logic and local control and are housed in a floor standing steel cabinet.
